Elks Soccer Shoot - "It's a Kick!" Saturday, May 14

"It's a Kick"
Saturday, May 14, 2011
9am-12pm

At North Park (Behind Kroger's) in Greenville
Age will be determined by their age on August 1, 2011

Greenville Lodge #1139 of the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks is once again sponsoring the Elks Soccer Shoot. The program is broken up into 4 age groups: Age 7 & under [U-8], Ages 8 & 9 [U-10], Ages 10 & 11 [U-12] and Ages 12 & 13 [U-14].

In the U-8 and U-10 age groups, each contestant will take 3 shots at 5 separate goals varying in sizes from 48 inches to 17 inches. The 48” goal will be worth 1 point and the point value will increase as the size of the goal decreases. The 17” goal is worth 5 points. The ball must be completely in the goal to count and the decision of the judge is final.

Should there be a tie, there will be a tie breaker consisting of shots at the 17” goal. Each of the contestants in a tie will get 1 shot at the goal and if the contestant misses, they’ll be eliminated. If all contestants remaining in a round miss the goal, the round will be replayed and all contestants that started that round will be back in. Any tiebreakers will be held at the awards banquet.

The U12 and U14 group will run a different competition. The regulation size goal will be broken down into a grid and you’ll receive different point values depending on which part of the goal the ball travels through. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 boys and top 3 girls in each age division at an upcoming awards banquet. Please contact Rich Hadden at 937-459-8775 if you have questions. We hope to see you there!
