The next meeting of the “Living with Cancer” Support Group will be held on Thursday, July 7th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. The meeting will take place at Wayne HealthCare in the 3rd Floor Conference room. This month’s support group features Emily Jasenski E-RYT, BA; she will be speaking on the benefits of Yoga for those who are currently and who have faced cancer.
Emily Jasenski E-RYT, BA is the Owner/ Director of elementsLife located in Downtown Greenville, Ohio. Emily began her Yoga journey 9 years ago, became a Nationally Registered Yoga Teacher in 2007, and recently celebrated the 4th anniversary of elementsLife. In 2010 elementsLife became the first Registered Yoga School with the National Yoga Alliance, and in June 2011 graduated 9 teachers from her program. Emily loves to teach and educate others on the meaning and importance behind a Yoga practice, as she tends to take it beyond the physical realm to help people understand the power behind this ancient form of movement. She is a regular presenter at both large and small venues, and most recently you can find her speaking at CEU certified events for both Doctors and Nurses. After the relocation of their business in summer 2011, Emily will launch her newest training program for Registered Yoga Teachers’ who wish to move into Yoga Therapy. She has worked for the past 4 years with people suffering from all types of physical, mental and emotional limitations, and has seen great success through her Subtle Energy Therapy Program. In her spare time she loves to be with her two kids and husband, watch documentaries, and continue her education in the practice & lifestyle of Yoga. Your local and independent Cancer Association of Darke County sponsors the “Living with Cancer” group in cooperation with Wayne HealthCare. The Support Group is open to anyone that has been diagnosed with cancer; the family and friends of an individual with cancer are encouraged to attend the group as well. Facilitating the support group meetings will be Warren Richards from the Cancer Association, Kay Kirby, Jill Brown, and Vicky Henderson from Wayne Hospital, and Pam Spitler from Breast Cancer Awareness of Darke County.
