Woodcock Watch

The spring courtship ritual of this unique bird is a treat to behold. Join a Naturalist on Thursday, February 23rd at 5:30pm as we attempt to spy on the male woodcock as he struts his stuff and shows off his aerobatics for the ladies. Quite an unusual looking “shore”-bird, the woodcock is present most of the year, but we only get good looks during their short mating season. Meet at the Nature Center, 4267 St. Rt. 502 West, and we’ll carpool to our viewing location. Pre-Register for this event by calling the Nature Center at 937.548.0165.
