Fort GreeneVille Chapter DAR Essay Winner

Fort GreeneVille Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution sponsored an American History Essay Contest. The contest is open to students in grades 9 through 12 in public, private, or parochial schools, or those who are home schooled. This years essay topic was "Christopher Columbus: In his own time, in history, and today." Greenville Sr. High School history teacher Julie Stratman's 2nd and 7th period students submitted essays. There were 22 students participating. The winner is Wilson Griffin Kirk Jr. Wilson is an eleventh grader at GHS. Also Fort GreeneVille Chapter is proud to announce that Wilson's essay went on to win at the Ohio DAR's southwest district level.
