Tecumseh Trail Grand Opening

Bike, Hike, Skate or Ride! Join the Darke County Parks on Saturday, April 28th at 10:00am for the inaugural use of the newly named, “Tecumseh Trail”. Whether you are riding your bike, on horseback, skating or walking, join us as we travel the length of this new multi-use and ADA accessible trail.

The Grand Opening will begin at the Gettysburg access point on Bridge Street for a brief ceremony and then we will head out on the trail to enjoy the beautiful spring weather. “This is a great example of local and state entities working together for a common cause for the local community,” said Darke County Parks Director Roger Van Frank. Some of the groups involved in this collaboration are the Darke County Engineer’s office, the Phoenix Committee, Darke County Park District and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Chief Engineer Jim Surber and many other representatives from state and local legislature will be on hand for the ceremony. Refreshments will be available and there will be a chance to win a door prize!

So dust off that bike, get out your walking shoes and bring the whole family out to celebrate the Grand Opening of the first 7.2 miles of the Tecumseh Trail. For questions, please call the Nature Center at 937.548.0165.

Visit our website at www.darkecountyparks.org to view a map of the trail. We hope to see you on the Trail!
