WHIOtv.com has the report linked below on a terrible accident that occurred last night in Mercer County. A van driven by 16 year old Zachary Elliot of Versailles went left of center of US 127 and collided with a car driven by 76 year old Henry Fortkamp Jr of Fort Recovery. Elliot was transported to Miami Valley Hospital via CareFlight where he was pronounced dead.
Fortkamp was pronounced dead at the scene. Riding with Fortkamp were 3 passengers, of which Fortkamp's wife Arlene, 72, and Rosemary Homan, 75, of Burketsville were taken to Mercer Health and pronounced dead. The third passenger, Donald Homan, 77, is in critical condition at Mercer Health.
According to WHIO, the accident remains under investigation, but alcohol is not currently suspected to be a factor in the crash. Click on the image below to read and watch WHIO's report on the accident.
