General Manager, Kathy Cool, presented long time GTS Driver, Russel (Darrel) Roan with a certificate for being chosen as the third quarter Katherine McClary Safe Driver Award. This is Darrel’s second quarterly award. For 2011, Darrel was also chosen as the division’s Safe Driver of the Year Award also. Greenville Transit System is operated by MV Transportation who recognizes those drivers who meet the criteria of this prestigious award. To receive this award a driver must not have any accidents, incidents, workers comp claims, or client complaints in that particular quarter and must be rated on an evaluation score sheet. Names are then submitted to the Corporate Safety Administrator of MV.
Russel has driven for GTS since 1995. He has proven himself to be a very qualified and safety minded individual who sets the safety bar at a very high standard. His ability to drive the buses everyday without triggering the drive cam camera or having any accidents or unhappy riders says a lot about his great driving and people skills. Everyone at GTS would like to congratulate Darrel for achieving this for the second time!
