The Versailles Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons No. 290 held a special Awards Luncheon on December 11th at The Inn at Versailles. The purpose was to present pins to Brothers for Fifty, Sixty, and Sixty-five years of service and membership in the Lodge.
The District Deputy Grand Master of the Great Third District, the Right Worshipful Brother Phillip Stickel was present to confer the awards upon our honored guests assisted by our local Lodges Master, Worshipful Brother Michael C. Snyder. Present to receive their fifty year pin was B. Larry W. Brown and B. James D. Wick. Unable to attend, but who will still receive their Fifty year pins are Brothers Robert McKnight, Jerry W. Smith, and posthumously, Leo J. Sheffel.
B. James Walls received his sixty year pin from the Grand Lodge and B. Waldo L. Fine, and B. John D. Weaver were honored with their pins for sixty-five years as Masons. Brothers William A. Fox, and B. Joseph A. Hunt were unable to attend, but will be receiving their awards of sixty-five years as well.
These men represent the finest in quality of truth, brotherhood and relief which are the hallmark of Masonry. We congratulate all of our Brothers on this outstanding achievement!
Also present included three past District Deputy Grand Master of the Great Third District, the Right Worshipful Brother John J. Harman, Right Worshipful Brother Gordon Yount, and Right Worshipful Brother David L. Nixon. In addition other Brothers and family members were in attendance.
The Versailles lodge meets of the first and third Thursday of each month September through June and are always looking for those men in the community who are interested in learning about our fraternity.
