Due to Greenville City Schools' temporary closure of the auditorium at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall, Darke County Center of Arts will move two upcoming shows to the Versailles Performing Arts Center, 280 Marker Road; VPAC is located within the school at Versailles. Franc D'Ambrosio, who has starred as the Phantom of the Opera in over 2600 performances, will perform as part of DCCA's Artists Series on Saturday, January 26 at 8 p.m. at VPAC, and DCCA's Family Theatre Series presentation of Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia's adaptation of Guess How Much I Love You and I Love My Little Storybook will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 27 at the Versailles site.
Dates and times for both shows remain as scheduled. All previously sold tickets will be honored; however, seating for Franc D'Ambrosio's performance will be general admission rather than reserved, although a section of seats will be held for Artists Series season ticket holders. Show-goers can gain access to the Performing Arts Center by entering Door 7 on the west side of the school building; doors will open at 7 p.m.
“Although we are extremely disappointed that Franc D'Ambrosio's thoroughly theatrical performance and Mermaid Theatre's black light production will not take advantage of the assets offered by the classic theater space at St. Clair Memorial Hall, DCCA is extremely appreciative of the opportunity to utilize the state-of-the-art technology available at Versailles Performing Arts Center,” said DCCA Artistic Director Keith Rawlins. According to Rawlins, DCCA technical staff are familiar with the sound and light capabilities available at Versailles, and believe that a high quality production with no deterioration in professional standards will be offered there.
“We sincerely apologize for ay inconvenience this change causes our patrons,” said DCCA Executive Director Andrea Jordan. “One of our main concerns is that the house size allows about 150 fewer seats than are available at Memorial Hall; therefore, although a good number of tickets are available forGuess How Much I Love You, only about 100 tickets remain for Franc D'Ambrosio, so those who want to attend either show should reserve their seats as soon as possible,” Ms. Jordan concluded.
DCCA officials are attempting to notify all those who have purchased tickets of the change in venue for the Franc D'Ambrosio concert and Guess How Much I Love You. Anyone having questions regarding their tickets or needing additional information as well as those who wish to purchase tickets for the shows should contact DCCA at 937-547-0908 or dcca@centerforarts.net.
