The League of Women voters of Darke County is presenting an educational forum about fracking. The meeting will be on Monday, March 18 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 114 East Fourth Street in Greenville.
Speakers for the event will be Joe Logan with the Agricultural Division of the Ohio Environmental Council and Julie Weatherington-Rice, scientist and adjunct professor at The Ohio State University. She is also a leading expert on aquifers and water preservation in Ohio, having been part of the team who mapped out the area’s sole-source aquifer. Both have been involved with investigating the fracking and waste-water injection issues that are occurring throughout Ohio.
A question and answer period will follow. No questions will be screened. This informational meeting is open to the public.
