Driver Hits House: Possibly Injuring One and is Charged with OVI

Original Post: On March 2, 2013 at approximately 10:15 PM Darke County Deputies along with New Madison Fire, and Tri-Village Rescue, responded to the 3800 block of SR 121 in Ft. Jefferson on a report of a vehicle that struck a house.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black 2003 Chevy Tahoe, driven by 31 year old Bruce A. Burns, Greenville, Ohio was traveling East on Weavers Ft. Jefferson Road and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of SR 121. Bruce A. Burns then made a left turn onto SR 121 and lost control of his vehicle and collided with a house, possibly injuring an occupant of the residence, 20 year old Kara Reier who was sitting on her bed which was against the wall that was struck by the vehicle. Kara Reier was transported by Tri-Village Rescue to Wayne HealthCare for possible injuries.

Bruce A. Burns was taken into custody for suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol and was later charged with OVI. Kara Reier is currently listed in good condition.
