Two Collegiate Bowlers from Greenville Head to Vegas for Sectional Tournament

UNOH bowling teams qualify for USBC sectional tournament

LIMA – The University of Northwestern Ohio men’s and women’s bowling teams have qualified to compete in the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships sectional tournament March 9 and 10 at Texas Star Lanes in Las Vegas. UNOH is one of 80 teams in the nation to qualify for play in the four sectional tournaments.
The UNOH teams qualified for the tournament based upon their standings in the Team Ranking System; the men’s team finished 22nd while the women were 41st. The TRS ranks schools based on their performance in USBC Collegiate certified events. The sectional field was assigned to one of the four sectional locations based on the TRS rankings and geographic location.

The top four teams from each sectional, bowling 64 Baker games, will advance to the national tournament, held April 18-20 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The student-athletes making the trip for the men’s team are Shane Bugner, Anthony Kennard, Toby James, Brandon Depew, Richard Vargo, Justin Starn, Robert Wood Jr. and Lee Keaser. The Lady Racers will have Crystal Boyer, Kandis Garland, Samantha Dudley, Olivia King, Bethany Pellman, Carlina Miller, Allison Kemp and Briana King.
