On April 19, 2013 at approximately 0903 am Darke County Deputies along with Ansonia Fire, Ansonia Rescue, and Union City Rescue was dispatched to the 2700 block of Beamsville Union City Road in reference to a single vehicle injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a green 2000 Ford Taurus driven by Teresa Corn, 55, Union City Indiana was eastbound on Beamsville Union City Road. Ms. Corn’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, sticking a utility pole. Ms. Corn’s vehicle continued through a residential yard and struck a tree. Mrs. Corn and the passenger, Daniel Fries, 64, Englewood Ohio, were trapped inside the vehicle. Ms. Corn was extracted from the vehicle and transported to Wayne Hospital. Mr. Fries was pronounced dead at the scene.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office and Darke County Coroner’s Office.
