“Be in the Know: Nursing law & Directives”, a co-sponsored program by State of the Heart Hospice and Darke County Nursing Education Council will be presented by Lisa Klenke RN, MBA who serves on the Ohio Board of Nursing and Traci Straley, LISW-S, LCSW who is the Director of Social Services at State of the Heart Hospice.
The information will explain major aspects of the Ohio Revised Code and the Ohio Administrative Code related to the practice of nursing in the state of Ohio. Advanced Directives will also be explained by describing the history, purpose and differences between Living Will, HealthCare POA and DNR.
The program will be held at Wayne HealthCare 3rd floor conference room on May 7th. Registration quickly filled up and currently the council is unable to accept any further registrations.
Any nurses in the community are invited to stop by starting at 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to check out information from area nursing schools regarding completing your BSN or MSN & enjoy a cup of coffee. Coffee bar sponsored by Indiana University East. Indiana Wesleyan, Indiana University East and Wright State University will all be on site.
In addition there will be “sneak peak” tours of the new Hospice Inpatient Unit which will be located at Wayne HealthCare. Hospice tours to run from 2:00pm-4:30pm on the 4th floor (old ICU).
