Fort GreeneVille DAR Donates to GHS ROTC, Provides Award

On Saturday 27 April Greenville Senior High School Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) Cadets demonstrated their marching skills for the Daughters of the American Revolution Fort Greenville Chapter. The event started with GHS NJROTC presenting Colors and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a demonstration of Color Guard precision marching. Next followed a demonstration of unarmed and armed platoon drill required for formal competitions. GHS NJROTC finished with a demonstration of their unarmed and armed exhibition teams where students are given freedom to perform military drill of their choosing and design.

In conclusion, Fort GreeneVille Chapter DAR Regent Chris Nehring presented the ROTC Medal to Cadet Lieutenant Macia Reed. The medal was awarded to Cadet Reed for her outstanding ability and achievement in the GHS ROTC program. Regent Nehring also presented the GHS ROTC program with a donation of $50. Cadet Lieutenant Commander Ian Weidner accepted the donation. The afternoon was finished with the chapter providing drinks and snacks for the Cadets and their families.
