A fantastic family idea: rent a camping spot at the Annie Oakley Festival

The 2013 festival is being held July 26, 27, and 28. You can arrive at the fairgrounds as early as Monday, July 22 , stay until Sunday, and pay only $25 per night. You can stay past Sunday by making arrangements with the secretary’s office at the fairgrounds.

For that small payment you will get a full hookup: electric, water, sewer and three days of great entertainment.

Once again the festival will have the Breakfast Bingo on Friday, the Little Miss and Mr. contest sponsored by Diane Evans Insurance at 7pm on Friday, and at 1pm on Saturday, the Expanded Annie Oakley car show sponsored by Doolittles Auto Service, 2pm Saturday Cornhole tournament sponsored by Captain D’s Seafood, 1pm each day Family Fun Games sponsored by Barga Heating and Air, the Photo Contest in the fine arts building, sponsored by Timothy Clopp Photography, and the county favorite, The Melodrama in the youth building all three days, and the Historical Bus Tours on Saturday and Sunday.

New to the festival this year will be the Horseshoe Tournament at 1pm Saturday sponsored by Captain D’s Seafood, on Sunday the Annie & Dave’s Dog Show under the trees, the Ugly Boot contest in the fine arts building sponsored by The Bootery, and for the first time to our festival, The National Whip Speed & Accuracy contest along with the International Bullwhip Fast Draw contest in the Coliseum on Saturday at 1pm. We will also host the new Greenville Fast Draw on Saturday and Sunday which is open to the public and on Saturday at 7:30 the National Kiddie Tractor Pull and the 11th Annual Annie Oakley Western Arts Showcase will again be held all three days.

Food and flea market vendors from all over the US are joining us to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Annie Oakley Festival and we hope you will join us also.

To reserve you camping spot call Judie Hathaway, Camping Chairman at 548-2391.

Remember that camping is always more fun with your friends, neighbors, and relatives. Be sure to pass on this information and make plans before the limited spots are taken, and join us in July.
