The Richmond Palladium Item is reporting that a major league baseball player has reached out to the family of a Dylan Williams, the 8 year old who tragically passed away after being struck by a baseball during practice this summer.
Mark Ellis, second baseman of the LA Dodgers, and his wife, Sarah, read about Dylan's accident in the USA Today. They then contacted local officials in Union City who then helped arrange a special outing for Dylan's family when the Dodgers come to Cincinnati this weekend to play the Reds.
Dylan's family and teammates will take a charter bus to the game on Saturday where they will receive a VIP treatment before and during the game. The young players will also receive special helmets courtesy of Ellis and Rawlings.
