Versailles Y Instructor Mindy Luthman recently attended a one-day workshop designed for current Indoor Cycling instructors. The AFAA-sponsored course focused on how to create dynamic group classes for all levels of participants.
The instructors also learned about safe cycling practices, correct technique and effective training principles. Luthman stated, “My big takeaway from the day was how to design a class that was full of energy, variety and challenges for all fitness levels.”
While some may fear that cycling is too intense of a workout, indoor cycling is, in fact, one of the lowest impact exercises, next to aqua fitness! Those with joint issues should consider incorporating cycling into their routine for a blast of cardio while being easy on the body.
The YMCA would like to extend thanks to Mindy for her efforts in attending this continuing education opportunity.
