Darke County Area Emmaus will be having a Quarter auction/ Silent auction/ Bake sale. The Fundraiser will be Saturday October 26th from 4-8PM at Oakland Church of the Brethren outside Gettysburg at 8058 Horatio-Harris Creek Rd.
There will be drinks sandwiches and chips to snack on while you are having a blast. this is our yearly fundraiser and we need your help! The more people the more fun! Many folks in Darke county and the surrounding areas have attended a walk and grown in their personal faith and leadership from these weekends. Clint Randall will also be sharing his testimony and how Emmaus helped him in his faith.
What is Emmaus? Here is a short definition of the weekend retreat.
"The Walk to Emmaus® is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. The Walk to Emmaus® experience begins with a 72-hour short course in Christianity, comprised of fifteen talks by lay and clergy on the themes of God's grace, disciplines of Christian discipleship, and what it means to be the church. The course is wrapped in prayer and meditation, special times of worship and daily celebration of Holy Communion. The "Emmaus® community," made up of those who have attended an Emmaus® weekend, support the 72-hour experience with a prayer vigil, by preparing and serving meals, and other acts of love and self-giving. The Emmaus® Walk usually begins Thursday evening and concludes Sunday evening. Men and women attend separate weekends. "

Have you ever been to a quarter auction? they are so much fun here is a small explanation of how they work.
There will be a paddle with a number on it these are gotten with a love donation. Then items from many different vendors will be held up on at a time for either a 1,2,3 quarter bid if you would like to win the item you throw your bid quarters in the pot and hold up your paddle. If your number is called YOU WIN!!
There will be items from many different vendors including pampered chef, advocare, tupperware, 31 gifts and many many more!
