On November 5, 2013, the Darke County Park District, established in 1972, is seeking your vote for a 10 year replacement levy to maintain, enhance and build upon our already outstanding county park system. Our parks are a result of generous bequests on the part of Darke County citizens, prudent use of tax dollars, a strong volunteer base, and a skeleton of essential skilled staff that maintain our outstanding parks.
We moved to Darke County in 1982, and until recently had utilized our wonderful park assets only a handful of times. Now in a different season of life, we have better been able to enjoy and appreciate the wonderful insight and hard work of those before us that make our parks what they are today. This is a tremendous legacy for those who gave before us, and the preservation of these treasures of history and nature are an enduring gift for our children, grandchildren, and fellow young citizens of this great county.
On November 5, 2013, we will vote for the park levy without reservation. We hope you will join us in this effort.
