DC Elite 99 Finishes Season Undefeated in League Play

DC Elite 99 finished their final two games of league play on November 2nd and 3rd. First, they traveled to Springfield to play Springfield United, who they beat the first time around by a score of 4-2. The weather was cold and windy and, playing along route 68, it was a little noisy. DC got off to a very slow start allowing too much possession to Springfield, but the DC defense held strong and kept the score 0-0 at half time. The second half was a little different though, with a little encouragement and some constructive criticism they came out and played better, not great, but better. DC moved the ball better and had some good build up from the back. Tani Mancillas scored the first goal and Brydon Diceanu scored the second and, along with Cole McGlinch making some great saves in goal, the defense did well to protect the shut out, and the win, 2-0 and remained undefeated in league play.

On November 3rd, DC hosted Techumseh at the Darke County fields. The weather was much better than the Springfield game and so was the play by DC. DC possessed and moved the ball fairly well even though they gave up a goal half way through the first half. DC kept working the ball and finally tied it up with a goal from Brice Robison. Then DC's Parker Hessler scored a nice goal from distance to give DC the lead. Techumseh didn't give up though and came back and tied it up with around 5 minutes left to play via a free kick out side the goalie box (it was a great free kick one of those you cannot do much about). DC kept working and with 15 seconds left to play, Conner Null stole the ball from a Techumseh attacker and played a nice ball over the outside defenders head to Reed Brammer who took two touches and hit a shot from just inside the goalie box across goal to far side net and locked up the win 3-2 and an undefeated league season: 8 wins and 0 losses.
