Second National Bank Sponsors DCCA Special Event RIDERS IN THE SKY “Christmas The Cowboy Way” DCCA Family Theatre Series and the Irish Wave

Second National Bank (SNB) has donated funds to Darke County Center for the Arts (DCCA) as an Impresario sponsor of the upcoming holiday special event Riders In The Sky "Christmas the Cowboy Way," Saturday, December 7, at St. Clair Memorial Hall, featuring Riders' unique "brand" of cowboy humor sprinkled with a dash of holiday spice. “Second National Bank’s sponsorship provides a variety of opportunities for all members of the community to learn and grow through participating in the arts,“ stated Andrea Jordan, DCCA Executive Director. “DCCA appreciates SNB’s commitment to the community through supporting events that help make Darke County a great place to live.”

SNB is also a sponsor of DCCA’s Family Theater Series, three professional theatrical programs specifically chosen to reach out to the young and young at heart. The upcoming 2013-2014 season of shows, presented at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville, will include Seussical, adapted for young audiences from the Broadway version, merging best loved Seuss stories into an incredible adventure, on January 26; The Ugly Duckling, Lightwire Theater brings this classic story to life with stunning electroluminescent puppetry, on March 9; and Five Little Monkeys, follows five silly simian siblings in cumulative verse, on April 6. All programs are at 2:00 pm on Sunday afternoons; tickets are only $5 and $12 for all three shows.


Additionally, DCCA’s Irish Wave FUNdraiser celebrates the rich traditions of the Emerald Isle Friday, March 14 at the Montage Café thanks to the sponsorship of SNB. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include Irish music, food and a variety of beers for tasting. Tickets are $35.

“Christmas the Cowboy Way” is also supported by The Coppock-Hole Trust and the Arts Midwest Touring Fund; a program of Arts Midwest that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the Ohio Arts Council and General Mills Foundation. Additionally, the Ohio Arts Council helped fund this program with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. DCCA also receives operating support from the Harry D. and Esther Stephens Memorial as well as funding from the Ketrow Foundation, Lydia E. Schaurer Memorial Trust Fund.

Tickets for the concert by Riders In the Sky cost $25, and can be reserved by contacting DCCA at 937-547-0908 or purchased at DCCA's office located within Greenville Public Library, as well as online at www.CenterForArts.net. According to DCCA officials, good seats remain for this performance; however, they recommend acting quickly, as past Riders In The Sky performances have sold out prior to showtime.
