WHIO: Home Near Rossburg Destroyed by Fire

WHIO is reporting a large house fire near Rossburg has destroyed a home and led to the deaths of a family's pet dog and cat. Thankfully, the two residents were not home at the time of the fire.

The article quotes Rossburg Assistant Fire Chief Rod Widener as saying the home "was fully engulfed when we arrived, the roof was falling in."

In total, 8 departments responded to the fire and the State Fire Marshall is expected to conduct an investigation into the cause of the fire.
