Knit and Stitch - Looking for Busy Volunteers

During this cold winter weather while you are hibernating in the house, are you looking for a project that keeps you busy and helps others too? The new RSVP “Knit and Stitch” program could fill that bill for you.

RSVP is looking for volunteers that are 55 and over, can knit or crochet, and want to be involved in making colorful hats, mittens, and scarves for the Head Start preschoolers at Kids Learning Place centers. This creative work can be completed at home, but monthly gatherings are offered to provide a time for socializing if desired. Volunteers have the option of personally presenting the hats and mittens to a child at an upcoming event at the Kids Learning Place centers. If you can’t actually knit or crochet, you can also help by donating yarn or knitting/crochet needles for the cause, drop off the supplies at your local RSVP office at 116 E. Third Street in Greenville.. .

If you have any questions just give Abhy Mangen, the RSVP recruiter, a call at 937-548-8002 or email her at rsvpdk@councilonruralservices.org. If you would like to volunteer in a more active position, Abhy can match you up with many of our other non-profits that need assistance also.
