Mary Lacy and Paula Varvel.
After 23 years working devotedly in the Dietary Department at Versailles Health Care Center, Mary Lacy of North Star, Ohio, recently retired. Lacy, 66, joined Versailles Health Care Center in 1990 as a dietary aide. She commented that there have been a lot of changes over the years. “When I started here, this was only a 50-bed facility. Now after two expansions, we have 105 beds.”

When asked about her time at Versailles Health Care Center, Lacy said, “I have really enjoyed visiting and talking with the residents over the years. I will miss everyone.” Lacy has one daughter, Pam Bey, and five grandchildren, Alysia, Justin, Kyle, Jared, and Lyndsey. In addition to spending time with her grandchildren, Lacy enjoys reading and gardening.

A farewell carry-in luncheon was held by her co-workers at the health care center. Paula Varvel, Director of Dietary Services, said “Mary will be greatly missed by her co-workers. Mary did an excellent job for VHCC and we give her great thanks for her contribution to VHCC’s residents and families.”
