WHIO: Not Guilty Plea Entered for Wombolt, Bond Set at $50,000

WHIO's Steve Baker was in the Darke County Common Pleas courtroom today as former Auxiliary Sheriff's Deputy Bryan Wombolt was arraigned on charges stemming from an alleged sexual relationship with a high school student.

Wombolt was arrested earlier this week after police were called to a domestic dispute at a Bradford restaurant where it seems evidence from Wombolt's phone suggested the relationship. He has been held at the Preble County Jail as a precaution to avoid contact with any of the parties involved in the case.

Wombolt appeared before Magistrate Anne Brumbaugh who entered a not guilty plea on his behalf as he was appearing without an attorney. The county prosecutor requested a bond of $25,000, but Magistrate Brumbaugh set the bond amount at $50,000.
