Reid names new director of Health Information Management

Julie Morrison of Richmond is the new Director of Health Information Management at Reid Hospital.

Morrison, on the Reid team since 1988, served as risk/privacy officer for the past 12 years. In that role, she was responsible for the oversight, implementation and coordination of all activities related to compliance with federal and state privacy regulations. Her experience also includes Information Services as a systems analyst working with medical records information and she also managed areas of the Health Information Management department from 1988 to 2000.

As director, Morrison will oversee all areas involved with creating and maintaining health information, including coding, abstracting, transcription, release of information, privacy, and record processing for Reid system patients.
