CHESTNUT VILLAGE OFFERS DAY TRIPS TO THE PUBLIC, AGE 55+

Chestnut Village at Brethren Retirement Community has two upcoming day trips that are open to the public, age 55+ and have limited seating. Both trips involve walking and must be paid for in advance to secure your seat.

May 14, 2015 We will be touring the American Sign Museum & Neon Sign Factory in Cincinnati and then having lunch at Montgomery Inn Boathouse on the Ohio River. The American Sign Museum takes you through a half century of sign history, beginning with the fancy goldleaf glass signs of the early 1900s, through the pre-neon era of lightbulb signs, to neon's heydey in the 1930s-1940s, and on into the plastic era of the funky '50s. This is a Guided Tours – the absolute best way to experience the American Sign Museum's collection. With 19,000 square feet of exhibit space, 28-foot ceilings (to accommodate larger signs), a working neon shop and a unique event space, the American Sign Museum is a quirky hidden gem you won't want to miss. The Montgomery Inn is consistently named as one of the top 10 best barbecue restaurants in the United States! The cost of this trip is $20 plus the cost of your lunch. We will be leaving Chestnut Village at 8:30 AM.

May 19, 2015 - We will be touring the Apple Store at the Greene and will learn about the technology products they offer, followed by an interactive hands-on experience with the Apple iPad. Bring your own iPad or use one of theirs. You must be computer savvy for this trip - you don't have to be a computer whiz, or have used an iPad, but you must have basic computer experience and know the lingo as this is a group class, not individualized instruction. Following the Apple Store, we will have a delicious lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. The cost of this trip is $10 - we will leave Chestnut Village at 9:30 AM.
