Teen Airlifted After ATV Accident

On May 8, 2015 at 17:09 hr. Darke County Sheriff's Office received a call of a ATV Accident. Darke County Sheriff Office along with Ansonia Rescue, Ansonia Fire Department and Careflight was dispatched to the 3600 Block of Hillgrove Woodington Rd. Units were advised that a 14 year old male was riding an ATV when the teen was ejected from the ATV. Investigation revealed the teen was riding on an old railroad bed across the field from the residence. The teen hit a deep ditch and lost control of the ATV causing him to be ejected from the ATV. The teens sister was able to get the injured teen onto her ATV and took him to their residence and summoned help. The teen was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. The teen is in undetermined condition at this time.

The investigation showed that the teen was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. This investigation remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
