DCCA PRESENTS SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

Darke County Center for the Arts will present high-tech comedy
musical act AudioBody at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall in
Greenville at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 15.

Darke County Center for the Arts will present high-tech comedy musical act AudioBody at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 15. According to DCCA Artistic Director Keith Rawlins, the performance is difficult to describe and the artists almost impossible to label. “This show is part of our intimate Coffeehouse Series, but could not be contained within the confines of the small venues where these performances usually occur,” Rawlins stated. “An innovative mix of comedy, circus arts, and up-beat music with cutting edge technology, AudioBody's performance will captivate and delight audiences of all ages,” he said.

According to Mr. Rawlins, AudioBody founders Matthew and Jason Tardy began their performing career as young teenagers, presenting sketch comedy in their home town, then trained with physical comedians, mime masters, gold-medal jugglers, and Cirque du Soleil performers before creating their current show that has played cruise ships, resort casinos, and the White House. Their arsenal of audio-visual inventions include wearable electronic jumpsuits that play music as they move, fluorescent light ropes that form the shapes of sound waves, an electronic drum set, and a computerized LED lighting system. “AudioBody presents a uniquely creative energetic show that provides something for everyone,” Rawlins concluded.

DCCA's Coffeehouse Series is sponsored by EB Real Estate, Julie and Tom Graber, Eileen and Steve Litchfield, and Rodney Oda. The Ohio Arts Council helps fund this program with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. DCCA also receives operating support from the Harry D. and Esther Stephens Memorial as well as funding from the Ketrow Foundation and Lydia E. Schaurer Memorial Trust Fund.

Tickets for the Coffeehouse Series performance by AudioBody cost $10, and can be purchased by contacting DCCA at 937-547-0908 or dcca@centerforarts.net, or at DCCA's office located within Greenville Public Library as well as online at www.CenterForArts.net. If any remain by showtime, tickets will also be available at the door. AudioBody will also perform on December 14 and 15 for junior high students as part of DCCA's Arts In Education series; these performances at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall are free and open to the public.
