A Note of Thanks

On behalf of the Trustees of the historic St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church outside Versailles at Webster, thank-you for your generous donations to preserve this Darke County treasure. We are grateful to our many friends who share in our vision of preserving this log church that is on the National Registry of Historic buildings.

Through your gifts this site is maintained completely by donations, as it has been since its closing in 1905. No public monies are used for the upkeep of the church, cemetery, or property.

The church opens it’s doors to the community on the third Sunday of September each year as history enthusiasts, decedents of the original German congregation, and community residence fill the old pews for a brief worship and hymn sing to commemorate those early settlers who built this tiny church in the dense forest of Webster settlement.

If you have not done so and would like to make a special “ gift” to support this historic legacy known as St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Your gifts may be sent in c/o either Richard Shumaker: 5958 Children’s Home Bradford Road, Greenville, Ohio 45331 or James Kelch: 105 Greenhaven Drive, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
