New Madison Man Runs Stop Sign, Causes 2 Car Accident

On September 1, 2017 at approximately 7:07 AM Darke County Deputies along with Arcanum Rescue, Gettysburg Rescue, Greenville Township Rescue, Union Township Rescue and Laura Fire responded to the intersection of Delisle Fourmans Road and Red River West Grove Road in reference to a two vehicle injury accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed a white 2010 Ford F-350 Medical Transport van driven by Tony Lindamood, 64, of New Madison, Ohio was traveling northbound on Red River West Grove Road. Lindamood failed to stop at a clearly marked stop sign at the intersection of Delisle Fourmans Road when he was struck by an eastbound white 2017 GMC Acadia driven by Diana Hans, 66, of Arcanum, Ohio. Lindamood’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a tree.

Lindamood and his five juvenile passengers whom are area students were transported to Wayne Healthcare with non life threatening injuries. Mrs. Hans was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, Ohio with non life threatening injuries.

Lindamood was issued a citation for failure to yield after a stop sign.
