1980's movie king John Hughes dies at age 59

John Hughes was the king of 1980's movies, at least from the perspective of commercial success. He wrote and/or directed National Lampoon's Vacation, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Pretty in Pink, Uncle Buck, Home Alone, and many others. No doubt many of you watched these movies at Wayne Cinema, or maybe the Salem Mall (back when that was safe). Hughes first stepped onto a movie set when he directed Sixteen Candles in 1984 - and he then withdrew from public life ten years later. He died today of a heart attack in New York.
