Darke T.E.A. Patriots hold downtown rally

A crowd of hundreds dozens rallied at Annie Oakley square at high noon today. The quiet, mostly older, crowd met and discussed ways to become more involved in the political process. A good time was had by all. However, MSNBC is reporting rampant violence, spitting, brick throwing, and teabagging occurred at the Darke T.E.A. event. Go figure.

  1. I think I speak for everyone here when I say, no one in their right mind would want to associate older people and teabagging! Ha Ha

  2. Did they have to get a permit to assemble on public property?

  3. I doubt it, the mayor is a republican. He was probably among them.

  5. These pictures in no way reflect a violent crowd! They just look like a group of friends chatting. Leave it to the news media to make something out of nothing!

  6. I am proud to see Greenville have TEA parties! I hope they grow and grow. They report this stuff because they are trying to demonize the movement as they feel threatened. Hopefully they will report lies in TOO many cities and people will call them on it. GO YOU TEABAGGERS!!!! and...THANK YOU!

  7. TP: Not surprisingly, someone didn't catch your sarcasm and now believes MSNBC is really reporting on Darke County's event. Now, I'm beginning to understand why a poor agricultural community votes republican.

  8. did someone write this article in advance and HOPE that "hundreds" would show up for their tea party event? WHAT LOSERS! GET INFORMED AND MAKE SOME SENSE. Every tea partier I've heard interviewed can barely string a sentence together...guess that is why Sarah Palin is so popular with them.....dummmmmmmbbbbb

  9. to all the commenters above: it was a joke! i wasn't expecting hundreds to show up, nor do i care how many showed up.

the source of the joke is the media's continued lying about the number of people who show up at political events. during the '08 election, obama would repeatedly hold campaign events immediately after rock concerts. a complicit media would never mention the rock concert, and then overestimate (usually by double) the amount of people who were there.

then - when palin joined the campaign and started packing auditoriums - the talk of crowd numbers suddenly wasn't relevant anymore.

even yesterday, the media said that "dozens" attended a tea party events that had thousands of attendees.

it is the people who are continually suckered by the media who are the butt of my joke. and that means YOU 9:54 :)

  10. also, i'm continually confused by people making pro tea party statements, then referring to themselves a tea baggers... are they joking in their pro tea party statements? are they confused about what a "tea bagger" is? Should i shut up and not try to inform them of what they are saying?

  11. Isn’t that typical of MSNBC, when they can’t find something negative to report about the opposition of their viewpoint, they just make something up.

Although I wasn’t a participant, I did drive by the congregation and they were waving at everyone who drove by… there surely was nothing violent about the group that I saw. I find it sad that just because an older group rise up in opposition the what the government is ramming down those citizens who are concerned about their future, people think they or the group (Tea Party) have something wrong with their thinking. Myself I think they have it together, and are trying to defeat the irresponsible government viewpoint.

  14. MSNBC, FOX, CBS, ABC or whoever all use the same tactic of we will make up the story anyway we want to and it is now up to you to prove us wrong. Even though it can be proved it was wrong, the first story still stands. People just will believe whatever they hear first.
