Not satisfied with merely defeating the levy, this Martin Street resident is now taking on Washington as well (or maybe "DC." means Darke County, as Kurt points out). Pretty soon you'll be seeing signs like this all across the fruited plane.
Update: Patrick forwards another unfortunate sign error. [language warning]
Looks like they should have passed two levies, one for the kids and one for the adults to go back to school to learn how to spell.
ReplyDeleteare these the elusive letters from rossburg? lol
ReplyDeleteDid Don Wright move into town?
ReplyDeleteMore moronic nonsense. It's like someone reading an e-mail forward and thinking, "if only there were a way I could shove this dumb ass thing in everyone's face, even if they don't have a computer."
I'm sure that if this guy had been supporting the levy you wouldn't have put this picture up for people to make fun of.
ReplyDeleteThis guy has more money in the sign then he would have just payed the school tax. This is ignorant!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou people are the morons and hypocrites, if this sign was used to support the levy it wouldn’t be on here making fun of a misspelled word. Have you ever heard of human error? No, I guess not, since you are all probably school board robots!
ReplyDeleteI think the sign is referring to Washington DC. Nobody can argue the point about DC being filled with liars. You pro tax hike people need to get over yourselves. Get a tissue.
ReplyDelete11:58 and 12:09 ... if you put a big sign in your front yard and screw up an easy word, I'll probably make a joke about it (whether you're for the levy or against).
ReplyDeleteBut - wow - those previously-aggressive anti-levy people are suddenly very defensive. :-0
Dearest No pity,
ReplyDeleteI would like to challenge your assertion that i am a moron and hypocrite. Please explain anything I have done that is moronic, as well as anything I have done that generates a contradiction.
Sincerely,
Kurt
DJ, I'd go a step further and say if you put a big sign in your yard with anything on it, you deserve to be made fun of. You join the ranks of the well-adjusted like Mr. Wright. BTW: Whither J. Schmidt when we need him?
ReplyDeleteHumm folks, it just may be “marketing”? If you drove by that sign and it was spelled correctly, you would have read it, made a statement under your breath… and forgot about it. Misspell a word, and wow everyone notices it and it is even posted on websites… and you certainly remember it.
ReplyDeletebrilliant marketing! what are they selling again?
ReplyDeleteI certainly DO and WILL remember it...remember that the poorly educated were amongst those sending $8.8 million dollars to another community that will support its future by educating the populace in safe buildings.
ReplyDeleteIf they're selling crazy or stupid, we're all stocked up here. Thanks anyway.
ReplyDeleteDJ... Beats me… but to Big of Government? Government lied about ObamaCare? Not for sure, but I take it he is unhappy with the government as it stands now?
ReplyDeleteDearest Kurt,
ReplyDeleteI don't see a comment of yours other than the one you have written to me. So obviously I wasn't talking to you.
To DJ,
ReplyDeleteThe fact that you said probably, tells me you probably would not have made fun of a sign that was used to support the levy. Even if you did, I'm certain you wouldn't have point out that the sign was used to support the levy, but now has a misspelled word. Since some people don't keep up with politics like others, I believe he is selling the idea that people should investigate further and see where our country is headed.
Who really knows if this was about Darke County, Washington, DC, or the school levy. Does it really matter?? I believe in spell check or a good old fashion dictionary!
ReplyDeleteIf morons were a dime-a-dozen.....oh yeah, they are.
ReplyDeleteI think if all of this energy was put in to passing the levy instead of worrying about some words spelled wrong it would have passed.Oh yeh I know there are miss spelled words in this comment but the differance is I dont care.
ReplyDeleteI love all the arguments but I do believe that this is a prime example of why this town could use a little upgrade in the school system. If you spell a simple word like airplane, then obviously the current system didn't work for you.. assuming this person went to GCS.
ReplyDeleteSum peepoll hear in dark cownty dont need no dang knew skools foar to gets a beter edjumacasion. Acts arund, wher gud enuff wif aut hiher tacks.
ReplyDeleteI love it. It's like a battle of the wits with an unarmed person. Go ahead and continue to spend your money on cigarettes and alcohol. Seriously, it is our children that will ultimately suffer, not your pocket book. However I agree that it is a truly brilliant marketing idea.

ReplyDeleteFruited Planes
DJ has picked on people before for their signs telling people to vote against the levy. I know some active REPUBLICANS who say they don't go to this site anymore because of stuff like this and DJ acting like a child.
ReplyDeleteNot to point out the obvious, but I have read posts about how the media will only portray their side of things and what they want you to know and how DJ doesn't like it, yet he does the same thing on here. Go figure.
DJ = nice guy, but should relinquish his website duties.
6:53 ... you are wrong. In January, I posted a photo of an anti-levy sign, made no negative comments about the sign, and took some crap from my friends who supported the levy.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know some active Republicans who need to be thrown out. We're probably talking about the same people.
Yah 6:53 PM you have not a clue what your talking about I am on this site Daily and I don't think one side beats the other IF YOU WANT A STORY OR SOMETHING BROUGHT UP FEEL FREE TO SEND IT IN. 99.9% sure it will be posted unless there is foul language in it. this site 50/50 and has been since I first started visiting this year
ReplyDeleteWhy should dj relinquish his website duties? It's exactly that - his website!
ReplyDeleteHate to say it, but persons ripping on this site are 100% accurate. Not even a question. And TLK, if you only started visiting this year, sounds like you have a lot of catching up to do or you need to pay attention, because obviously you are a lost little puppy.
ReplyDeleteHello 5:42pm........I love how many people in this town assume if you did not vote yes for the levy, you are spending your money on beer and cigs. Talk about stereotyping....no wonder this town has a bad rap. For your information, I do not smoke or drink AND I voted no for the school levy. I also work 40 hours a week and take no government assistance. So, dont judge all people just because they dont agree with you!
ReplyDeleteIt's probably the yes voters that are getting public assitance......so they would be footing the bill anyway.
ReplyDelete2:23pm: People aren't saying that all no voters spend their money on beer and cigs. They are saying that there is no excuse for not coming up with $2 a week for a new school (assuming you own a $100K home-which most don't). There isn't a person in this school district who can't afford that. They CAN pay for it. They SHOULD pay for it. They choose not to pay for it. Regardless of what "they" are saying, I am saying every single one of you no voters is selfish, ignorant or both.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous August 8, 2010 9:11 AM, Yes you supporters are saying that all people who voted no on the levy spend their money on alcohol and cigs. I have read many comments stating that. I also do not smoke or drink alcohol. I am educated with an college degree and have a great job. I voted no on the school levy. Its time to quit crying and move on. The levy will pass in the future.
ReplyDeleteCharlie: Nobody's crying. Just calling it like it is. Shame on you. The levy will pass in the future? What? When there are fewer people like Charlie Fuller in the world? Let somebody else deal with, right?
ReplyDeleteI honestly wonder whether it crosses your mind that some day you'll meet your Maker and all the people who sacrificed to give you the opportunities that helped you become who you are. How do you look them in the eye?

Nice guilt trip! Shame on YOU!
Hey dj,
ReplyDeleteDon't look now, but there's a spelling error on your update: lauguage? Oops. LOL
hahahaha .... bus-ted.
ReplyDeletealthough i would classify this as a typo versus a spelling error, i nevertheless put myself in a great position to be knocked off my high horse :)
Whoever did that sign must work for the Daily Advocate!
