On September 9th, 2010 at approximately 4:42 PM, the Darke County Sheriff's Office, along with Gettysburg Fire and Gettysburg Rescue were dispatched to the intersection of Gettysburg Webster and Childrens Home Bradford Roads in reference to a two vehicle injury accident. Careflight was also requested to the scene.
The initial investigation revealed that a 2000 Dodge Ram Truck was being operated by Virginia Bergman (21) of Bradford, Ohio, and was Eastbound on Childrens Home Bradford Road. Bergman's vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign at Gettysburg Webster Road and struck a 2007 Toyota Camry being driven by Jo Ellen Zerkle (62) of Bradford, Ohio, which was Northbound on Gettysburg Webster Road. Both vehicles then continued off the Northeast Corner of the intersection into a cornfield.
Bergman was treated by Gettysburg Rescue and was transported to Wayne Hospital. Zerkle was treated by Gettysburg Rescue and was then flown to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight.
The condition of both individuals is unknown at this time.
i came up on that right after it happened. the sheriff's office needs to take lessons in make and model of vehicles, it was a dodge dakota not a ram.
