TWO MEN AIRLIFTED TO MIAMI VALLEY FOLLOWING CRASH (UPDATE: Passenger dies of injuries)

UPDATE: As of September 16th, 2010 at 12:39 AM, Kilven Williams (43) of Greenville, was pronounced deceased at Miami Valley Hospital due to injuries he sustained from the crash on State Route 47 west of Ansonia on September 12th, 2010.

On September 12th, 2010 at approximately 14:02 hours, 9-1-1 Dispatchers at the Darke County Sheriff’s Office answered a 9-1-1 call in reference to a possible serious one vehicle motor vehicle crash on State Route 47 just west of the Village of Ansonia . Initial information from the 9-1-1 callers reported that the vehicle had rolled several times. Darke County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the crash, along with Ansonia Fire, Ansonia Rescue, and two helicopters from Careflight.

Once on the scene, investigation revealed that a 2002 Ford Truck, driven by Rodney Widener (38) from Ansonia , Ohio , was Eastbound on State Route 47 when the vehicle lost control. The vehicle left the north side of the roadway and rolled multiple times before the vehicle came to rest inverted in a bean field.

Both Widener and the passenger, Kilven Williams (43) of Greenville , were ejected out of the vehicle. Ansonia Rescue treated both patients before they were flown via Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton , Ohio . Both patients had serious injuries.

Speed and alcohol are suspected in the crash.

  2. We will all be sure to help raise little Kilven, Jr. He will be loved by many. Ashley's family will give her all the support she needs to help her through this terrible time. With that said, we are so incredibly excited to meet this little guy!
