I'm not sure it's my cup o' tea either, but I know I can count on Chef Jeff to deliver innovative and creative food on a regular basis. I can't wait to hopefully have an opportunity to taste it and stop simply reading about it!
The wonderful thing about food, it's such a subjective matter. Few other areas in life offer such a diverse array of variety. Although supplying our nutritional needs is a required necessity, when you compare those needs to that of our need for air, or water, we are offered far fewer chances of the luxury to enjoy them in such great variety.
When one looks around the Greenville dinning landscape, options abound. We have an abundance of fast food restaurants, plenty of pizza places, several steak houses, an italian place, a few sit down restaurants, but no one in Greenville (outside of Michael Anthony's at The Inn) has approached the more creative side of food. From my interactions with people in the area and having gained feedback from my actions generated by the eatrie food blog, a large population exists in Greenville which seeks to explore that more creative side.
I must admit, when I came across a similiar recipe for corn ice cream, it was a stretch for me to grasp myself. But there in lies the true beauty of food. The element of surprise is almost omnipresent.
Just a few short years ago, I similarly wrinkled up my nose at the idea of partaking in sushi. I mean come on, raw fish wrapped in seaweed did not immediately present itself as something one should EVER put in your mouth, yet alone, one I would enjoy doing so. Had it not been for the goading of a close friend who persisted in extolling its virtues and delights, I would not have discovered the great joy I now find it partaking of it.
To that end, and as an aside, I am thrilled of the prospect of the new Chinese buffet which has posted the fact it will be offering sushi...in Greenville nevertheless!
Yes, the wonderful thing about food- THERE US A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. And when you look beyond your own notions, you never know what delightful new tidbit you may discover.
Sorry but that doesn't look appealing at all.
