WHIOtv.com: Greenville HS Reopens After Bomb Threat

WHIOtv.com has updated their story (found by clicking here) after GHS was reopened this morning. After a canine unit searched the building, students entered after a two hour delay. Each backpack was checked, and students were instructed to turn off all cell phones and electronic devices.

All searches done yesterday and today turned up nothing and the school was declared safe to resume class.

  1. I'm curious as to why the school was locked down instead of getting the kids out of the building right away!

  2. All schools have coordinated procedures for these types of things. While is much speculation as to how it all really came down, I have read or heard nothing concrete. I'm sure that the HS followed procedure according to what and how it all came together, and from what I can tell, they did a fine job. I'm sure that they will probably tweek the current policy (as this is probably the first time anything like this has ever happened in recent years) based on the events that happened.
It's easy to be critical, but unless you are directly involved you must keep an open mind and look at the very big picture.
