Robert McCurdy was the eldest of at least five brothers who were among the earliest residents of Troy, OH. In fact the family owned so much farmland west of the city in Concord Township that the road they lived on was named after them. Coming to America in 1848 to join his brothers who were already residents of the fast growing 19th century town, Robert met Nancy Cain on the ocean journey from Ireland and proposed marriage. Nancy accepted and the couple was married in May of 1848.
The only problem was, Nancy already had a husband – and he was on her trail.
Morning through the Shadows contains both mystery and myth. Based on the true story of Marla Fair’s ancestors it brings together elements of romance and danger as Nancy is sought by her obsessive husband, William Boyd, a creature of wealth and privilege whose arrogance drives him to utilize his connection to the ancient order of Masons to track her down.
